Volleyball Recap: Warren Dragons vs. Cochranton Cardinals
After flying high against Erie last Tuesday, Warren came back down to earth. The Warren Dragons fell just short of the Cochranton Cardinals by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Saturday.
Warren actually scored more points across those five sets (99-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 11-25, 18-25, 25-15, 15-12.
Warren's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Malysia Sorensen, who had 25 digs, and Sophie Walker, who had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Walker has posted in her last 12 matchups.
With the loss, Warren broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-3-3. As for Cochranton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
