Basketball Recap: Tarpon Springs Comes Up Short

Tarpon Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes, falling 63-31. If the Spongers were looking for revenge after losing 75-47 to the Hurricanes when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tarpon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Palm Harbor University, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tarpon Springs won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Clearwater at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The Spongers' defense better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 54.8 points per game this season. As for Palm Harbor University, they and Weeki Wachee will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
