Volleyball Recap: Battle Spartans vs. Camdenton Lakers

After flying high against Fatima last Wednesday, Battle came back down to earth. The Battle Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Camdenton Lakers on Thursday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Lakers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

While Battle had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 15-25, 25-22, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Battle still got an impressive performance from Ellie Boyer, who had 35 digs.

Even though they lost, Battle couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 40.7% of their attack attempts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Camdenton only posted a hitting percentage of 13.1%.

Battle's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7-2. As for Camdenton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8-1 record this season.

Battle will be playing in front of their home fans against Rock Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Camdenton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Father Tolton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
