Recap: Northland Lutheran Wildcats vs. Illinois Lutheran Chargers
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Northland Lutheran Wildcats ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over Illinois Lutheran. The victory was some much needed relief for Northland Lutheran as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Illinois Lutheran's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Adeniran, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. The match was Adeniran's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tristan Biesterfeld, who scored 16 points.
Northland Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Illinois Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Northland Lutheran will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Great Plains Lutheran at 2:30 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Great Plains Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Illinois Lutheran, they will take on Michigan Lutheran at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
