Jasper County scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the Banks County Leopards 68-64. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Leopards are ranked 191st).

Banks County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kolby Watson led the charge by going 10 for 18 on his way to 31 points and five rebounds. The contest was Watson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Gonzalez, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Jasper County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Banks County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Jasper County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-52 loss against Bleckley County on the 28th. As for Banks County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-63 defeat against Athens Christian on the 28th.
