Basketball Recap: Buckingham Takes a Loss

Buckingham lost against Prince Edward County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Buckingham Knights came up short against the Prince Edward County Eagles, falling 49-28. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Eagles are ranked 99th).

This is the second loss in a row for Buckingham and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Prince Edward County, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-0.

Buckingham and Appomattox County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Appomattox County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Buckingham surely won't give up without a fight. As for Prince Edward County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Nottoway at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
