Creekside is 8-2 against Fleming Island since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Creekside Knights will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Fleming Island Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
If Creekside beats Fleming Island with 16 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Creekside came out on top against Mandarin by a score of 16-13 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.
Arianna Carrigan made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carrigan was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Creekside let Presley Brinkley and Nickiyah Walker run wild. Brinkley scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5, while Walker went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance gave Brinkley a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Cunningham, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
Creekside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mandarin only posted an OBP of .395.
Meanwhile, Fleming Island got the win against Palatka on Friday by a conclusive 14-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.
Mallory Blackwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Olivia Sikes was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lauren Abram, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Fleming Island's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Creekside, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.
Creekside skirted past Fleming Island 4-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does Creekside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fleming Island turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
