Basketball Game Preview: Metro Academy Mavericks vs. Blue Valley North Mustangs

Metro Academy is 0-5 against Blue Valley North since February of 2018 but things could change on Friday. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Metro Academy picked up another tournament win last Saturday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 67-22 win over Rich Hill. The Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 33 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blue Valley North). They managed a 69-65 victory over Lee's Summit two weeks ago. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Blue Valley North's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Metro Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Metro Academy was dealt a bruising 71-44 loss at the hands of Blue Valley North in their previous meeting back in January. Can Metro Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
