Palmetto Ridge fell to Estero 41-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ron Johnson was a bright spot for the Bears, as he threw for 55 yards and ran for 140 yards in the defeat.
Cody Long put up the best numbers in passing as the Wildcats bested Palmetto Ridge. He finished with a total of 23 completions for 234 yards and 1 touchdown. Long's favorite target this week was Nick Nataro, who caught 6 passes for 96 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Long of Estero is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,668. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tony Lesende. The Palmetto Ridge star has 26 catches for 518 yards.
Mark Jackson's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,819 from 6,596. The improvement was largely due to a 41-21 victory over Ryan Mitchell's team last week.
