Volleyball Recap: Palmer Takes a Loss

Palmer came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Riverside Chargers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Palmer was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-23.

Marlea Donahey paced Palmer's offense, picking up 16 kills. Donahey got some help from Kayden Tyan and her 22 assists. Finally, Donahey was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high eight blocks.

Palmer's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Riverside, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Palmer has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Fullerton on the 2nd. As for Riverside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Osceola on the 2nd.
