Baseball Recap: Comeaux Takes a Loss

Comeaux was the 13-3 winner over Westminster Christian Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 10-9 on Thursday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Comeaux saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mayson Picard, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Picard has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another was Keiffer Williams, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Comeaux's record now sits at 7-17. As for Westminster Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

Coming up, Comeaux will be playing at home against Morgan City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.12 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Livonia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
