Basketball Game Preview: Chavez Titans vs. Taft Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Chavez Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Taft Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Chavez is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Shafter just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to the Generals 60-56.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Taft took on McFarland on Thursday. Taft was outmatched by McFarland and fell 81-44. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chavez will have to contain Nick Andrade as he made an impact in Taft's last game. He went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Weber, who posted four points.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Chavez, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

Chavez came up short against Taft in their previous meeting back in January, falling 58-52. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Taft's Josh Cundiff, who went 10 of 13 on his way to 22 points and seven boards. Now that Chavez knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
