The Petersburg Crimson Wave will venture away from home to square off against the Thomas Jefferson Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Petersburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Petersburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-47 to Matoaca.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Keenan Mason, who posted 11 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jay'Vion Threatt, who earned eight points.

Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson ended up a good deal behind Matoaca on Monday and lost 68-50.

Thomas Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Petersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Petersburg beat Thomas Jefferson 53-43 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Petersburg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
