Volleyball Recap: Chugiak Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Service + How To Watch

Chugiak faced Service in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-16 in the first set.

Chugiak actually scored more points across those five sets (104-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-20, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12.

Audrey Parks paced Chugiak's offense, picking up 17 kills. Parks got some help from Oliviya Rodriguez and her 37 assists. Parks was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Chugiak's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Service, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 15-8-3.

Chugiak has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Wasilla on the 11th. As for Service, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Dimond on the 10th.
