Softball Preview: Minster Wildcats vs. Coldwater Cavaliers
The Minster Wildcats will take on the Coldwater Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Minster is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Minster lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Shawnee, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Wildcats never let the Braves get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Friday. Minster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shawnee only posted an OBP of .350.
Meanwhile, Coldwater suffered their closest defeat since March 28, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Fort Loramie by a score of 5-3.
Minster has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Coldwater, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
