Basketball Recap: Tomball Takes a Loss

Tomball extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They had to suffer through an 85-45 loss at the hands of the Lake Ridge Eagles. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Lake Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points over those games.

Lake Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashton Parker, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 16 points and six assists. Thanks to that strong game, Parker now owns an excellent 48.9% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Dulin, who shot 89% from the field to rack up 18 points.

Coming up, Tomball and Aldine will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Lake Ridge, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fort Bend Bush at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
