Basketball Recap: Greenwood Christian Comes Up Short

Greenwood Christian was the 65-41 winner over Calhoun Falls Charter when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks were beaten by the Blue Flashes 68-37 on Monday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loss or not, Greenwood Christian got some senior leadership from Ty Kennedy and Holden Poole. Kennedy went 10-for-20 to rack up 26 points, while Poole posted 11 points and eight rebounds. Kennedy's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Reese Harper also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calhoun Falls Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braylon Patterson, who had 24 points. That's the most points Patterson has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Preston Thomas-Smalls, who scored 17 points.

Greenwood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Greenwood Christian has already played their next game, a 61-34 victory against Cambridge Academy on the 9th. Calhoun Falls Charter has also already played their next contest (against Thornwell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
