Volleyball Recap: Huntington Red Devils vs. Warren Warriors

Huntington was the 2-1 winner over Warren when they last played one another back in August of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Huntington Red Devils fell just short of the Warren Warriors by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Red Devils just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Huntington actually scored more points across those five sets (102-90), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 11-25, 13-25, 25-22, 15-6.

Despite the loss, Huntington saw an underclassman step up: Jaidyn Maddox had ten digs.

Even though they lost, Huntington was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren only served six.

Huntington's defeat dropped their record down to 17-19. As for Warren, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 21-12 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntington will challenge Newton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warren, they will square off against Central Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Heights is coming into the game with 15 straight wins at home, so Warren will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
