4A/5A Southwest recap September 10, 2013
Durango scaled the state rankings by moving to 68 from 97 this week, the biggest jump in 4A/5A Southwest. The Demons climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Kirtland Central 42-7.
Grand Junction was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Rocky Mountain. The Tigers came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Grand Junction's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. TYLER HEINSMA threw for 140 yards and KALEB JOHNSON had 79 yards receiving. On the ground AUSTIN LEWIS chipped in 151 yards.
