Carlinville had won three straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 12-8 to make it four. They had just enough and edged out the Hillsboro Hiltoppers 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Hiltoppers: they've now won six in a row.

As for Hillsboro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.
