Softball Game Preview: Elizabethtown Bears vs. Hershey Trojans

The Elizabethtown Bears will take on the Hershey Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Elizabethtown has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Elizabethtown's win against Ephrata wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Mountaineers on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Mountaineers: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Hershey entered their tilt with Central Dauphin East on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Hershey pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Elizabethtown, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
