Baseball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Naugatuck, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 13th.

Dylan Perez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Frank De Jesus was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Naugatuck, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy will welcome Crosby at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Naugatuck, they will be playing at home against Waterbury Career Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.56 runs per game on average), something the Greyhounds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
