Soccer Game Preview: Wando vs. James Island

The Wando Warriors will square off against the James Island Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wando comes in on nine and James Island on 14.

Wando is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: West Ashley, who was ranked 13th at the time (Wando was ranked seventh). The Warriors never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Wando were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, James Island got the win against Cane Bay on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. James Island might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by three goals or more this season.

Wando pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those nine contests. As for James Island, their record now sits at 17-2.
