Volleyball Recap: Wright's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Wright unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies by a score of 2-1. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Jocelyn Umiker paced Wright's offense, picking up eight kills. Umiker got some help from Emilie Martinez-Reyes and her 15 assists. Eliana Valdivia controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Wright's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Rocky Mountain, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Wright wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Kemmerer on the 13th. As for Rocky Mountain, they are taking a road trip to square off against Powell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
