Baseball Recap: Ponderosa Find Success

Ponderosa took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Rock Canyon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Jaguars 12-10. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 11-4 win the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Ethan Alejo was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Grady Jacobs was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Ponderosa is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Rock Canyon, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Ponderosa will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jaguars: the pair will be back at it again later today.
