Basketball Recap: Newark Piles Up the Points Against Logan

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Newark's strategy against Logan on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Newark Wildcats blew the Logan Chieftains out of the water with a 62-25 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Several Chieftains players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryann Landis, who posted six points. Brynn Barrett was another key player, putting up seven points.

Newark has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Logan, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Newark has already played their next game, a 72-65 loss against Big Walnut on the 29th. As for Logan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 43-36 victory against Nelsonville-York on the 25th.
