Basketball Recap: Butler County Skates Past Hancock County with Ease

Butler County waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 75-31 victory over the Hancock County Hornets. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Hornets are ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Butler County has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.5 points per game. As for Hancock County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Butler County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Breckinridge County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Breckinridge County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Butler County likes a good challenge. As for Hancock County, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Frederick Fraize at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
