Basketball Game Preview: Ellsworth Lancers vs. Bellaire Eagles

The Ellsworth Lancers will head out on the road to square off against the Bellaire Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ellsworth comes in on three and Bellaire on six.

Ellsworth's tournament run continued when they took on St. Mary Cathedral on Wednesday. Ellsworth pulled ahead with a 50-49 photo finish over St. Mary Cathedral.

Meanwhile, Bellaire blew past Central Lake, posting a 62-32 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Bellaire's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points over those games. As for Ellsworth, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Ellsworth ended up a good deal behind Bellaire when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 47-33. Can Ellsworth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
