Basketball Recap: East Central Takes a Loss

East Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 68-50 bruising from the Chickasaw Chieftains. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-50 back in November.

When it comes to explaining why East Central lost, don't look at Aj Hopkins. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. That was a full 54% of East Central's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brody Howard, who earned 16 points.

East Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Chickasaw, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

East Central will head out to face off against Wayne County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chickasaw has already played their next match, a 67-45 defeat against Mobile Christian on the 14th.
