Basketball Recap: Morgan Trojans vs. South Summit Wildcats
After flying high against Union last Thursday, Morgan came back down to earth. The Morgan Trojans fell just short of the South Summit Wildcats by a score of 66-63 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trojans have suffered since December 21, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Morgan saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zoe Rockenfield posted 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Rockenfield. Eva Birkeland was another key player, going 6 of 15 en route to 21 points.
South Summit got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Broadbent out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 20 boards. Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for South Summit, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Morgan has already played their next game, an 81-31 victory against Ben Lomond on the 6th. As for South Summit, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-38 win against Union on the 6th.
