Softball Recap: Discovery Titans vs. Meadowcreek Mustangs
Discovery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They fell just short of the Meadowcreek Mustangs by a score of 16-15. Even though they lost, the Titans' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Kendall Cross made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakiya Scott, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Discovery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Discovery's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Meadowcreek, the win snapped their losing streak at 19 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-9 record.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Discovery will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Cedar Shoals at 5:30 p.m. Discovery is facing Cedar Shoals at the right time seeing as Cedar Shoals is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Meadowcreek, they will head out to square off against Greater Atlanta Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
