Basketball Game Preview: Waterford Wildcats vs. Le Grand Bulldogs

Having just played yesterday, the Waterford Wildcats will get right back to it and host the Le Grand Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Waterford nor Le Grand posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Waterford took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Sierra Ridge Academy/ROP onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The two-point effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Le Grand was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by Chavez 66-19.

Le Grand's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Waterford, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Waterford came up short against Le Grand in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 58-45. Can Waterford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
