After a string of seven wins, Betsy Layne's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 63-56 to the Floyd Central Jaguars. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaguars earlier this season, when they won 73-63.

Betsy Layne lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cameron Pente, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 22 points. Brayden Hall also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Floyd Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lucas Howard, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Howard is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Dylan Boyd was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Betsy Layne's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Floyd Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-18.

As for Floyd Central, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Floyd Central Jaguars challenge Martin County Cardinals at 8:15 p.m. on Monday. They will need to watch out since Martin County has now posted at least 55 points in their last 13 contests.
