Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Heritage walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tuscarora Huskies 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Pride, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Heritage got a great performance from Sam Walsh as he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts Walsh has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, Cooper Miskelly was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Heritage pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Tuscarora, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Heritage will square off against Loudoun County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pride's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Captains have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Tuscarora, they will take on Woodgrove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Huskies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
