Volleyball Recap: Aledo's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to 15

Aledo waltzed into their match on Friday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. Everything went their way against the Azle Hornets as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-20.

Kaelee Berkley paced Aledo's offense, picking up 13 kills. Berkley got some help from Sophie Frank and her 19 assists. Kailey Hamilton controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Azle's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heather Lockridge, who had 15 digs and one assist. Lockridge has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Aledo's victory bumped their record up to 32-2. As for Azle, the loss snapped their winning streak at six matches and leaves them with a 24-12 record.

Aledo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Brewer on the 7th. As for Azle, after both having extra time off, they and Fossil Ridge will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
