Lafayette entered their tilt with Marquette on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 11-2 victory. Considering the Lancers have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lafayette pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Marquette, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

Lafayette will have a chance to go back-to-back against Marquette: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
