Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times reported Friday that head coach Steve Baik of Chino Hills (Calif.) has resigned.

Under Baik's guidance, the Huskies grabbed national attention this season with a fan-friendly style that produced points and wins.

Brothers Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball were the focal point as Chino Hills went 35-0, winning section, state and national titles. The Huskies scored 100 points or more 18 times.

Senior Lonzo, a 6-foot-6 point guard headed to UCLA, was named MaxPreps National Player of the Year while LaMelo and 6-9 forward Onyeka Okongwu earned Co-Freshman of the Year honors.

Then there was the middle child, LiAngelo, who produced a team-high 27 points per game and was named to the MaxPreps All-American Team.

Along with Elizjah Scott and Cameron Shelton, the roster looked well-stocked for another big run in 2016-17 despite the loss of Lonzo Ball – making Baik's decision a bit of a surprise.

According to Sondheimer's report, Baik hopes to carve out more family time by finding a position closer to his home in Altadena.
