Volleyball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton lost against Eisenhower on September 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Railroaders fell 2-0 to the Tigers. The Railroaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Eisenhower scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18.

Gracie Newhouse paced Newton's offense, picking up seven kills. Newhouse got some help from Pozzi Krehbiel and her ten assists. Krehbiel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Taylor Morgan had a dynamite game For Eisenhower., getting 19 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Kamry Johnston, who had seven digs and two assists.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Eisenhower, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Newton has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Northwest on the 27th. As for Eisenhower, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against South on the 27th.
