Liberty posted their closest win since February 22nd on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the El Paso Tigers 17-16. The Patriots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Levi Walker was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Will Hutson was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4.

Walker wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Liberty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for Liberty: they were averaging 4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.6.

The win got Liberty back to even at 6-6. As for El Paso, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Liberty and El Paso will both be playing Lubbock the next time they take the field. El Paso will head out to face Lubbock at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Liberty will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
