Baseball Recap: Crab Orchard Victorious

After losing to Eldorado the last time they met, Crab Orchard decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Eagles 7-6 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

The team relied heavily on Carter Watts, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Crab Orchard's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Mausey, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Crab Orchard's record is now 5-11. As for Eldorado, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Crab Orchard will be playing at home against Cobden at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Eldorado, they will head out on the road to square off against Edwards County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
