Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ward Melville). They never let the Lindenhurst Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Patriots have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ward Melville is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Lindenhurst, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Ward Melville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-5 victory against Bellport on the 3rd. As for Lindenhurst, they will venture away from home to challenge Walt Whitman at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
