Softball Recap: Giles Gets the Win

Giles took an 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Auburn, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since March 20th.

Kaylee Lane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Addie Lowry was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Addison Hylton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Giles and bumps their season record up to 12-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Auburn, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 20-1.

As of now, neither Giles nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
