Basketball Recap: La Veta Skates Past Antonito with Ease

There's no place like home for La Veta, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-12 victory over the Antonito Trojans. With the Redhawks ahead 32-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

La Veta had a senior duo take command as Isiah Rodriguez posted 18 points and four steals and Lukas Ozzello went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Ingram, who put up six points and six steals.

The win got La Veta back to even at 3-3. As for Antonito, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Veta will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Manzanola at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Antonito will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Moffat on January 10, 2025.
