Softball Recap: Mooresville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mooresville and Franklin Central squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Mooresville had to settle for second. They lost 16-10 to the Flashes. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flashes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.

Mooresville got a big performance out of Avery Owens, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Humphrey, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mooresville has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-12 record this season. As for Franklin Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Mooresville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin Central, they will square off against Southport at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
