Softball Recap: Hamilton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Marion County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hamilton). They put the hurt on the Marion County Red Raiders with a sharp 12-2 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Aggies in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won eight in a row.

Hamilton let Jessica Shotts and Emily Jones run wild. Shotts scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Jones scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla King, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Hamilton's win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Hamilton will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Muscle Shoals at 12:15 p.m. As for Marion County, they will venture away from home to square off against Mars Hill Bible at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
