Baseball Game Preview: Mainland Buccaneers vs. Trinity Christian Academy Eagles

The Mainland Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Mainland came up short against Astronaut and fell 13-10.

Jordan Payne made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Elijah Burgess was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 7-3 to Flagler Palm Coast on Monday.

Trinity Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Callahan, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Mainland skirted past Trinity Christian Academy 6-5 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mainland since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
