Volleyball Recap: Chatfield Comes Up Short

Chatfield was the 3-2 winner over Eaglecrest when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raptors on Saturday.

While Chatfield ultimately came up short, they really made Eaglecrest work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-23, 12-25, 26-24, 25-15.

Emme Mordi paced Chatfield's offense, picking up 19 kills. Mordi got some help from Tally Smith and her 17 assists. Kayt Gall controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Eaglecrest found their leader in sophomore Natalia Jarzebczyk, who had 24 assists. Jarzebczyk has been hot, having posted 16 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Chatfield's record is now 11-10. As for Eaglecrest, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Chatfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Bear Creek on the 28th. As for Eaglecrest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Mullen on the 28th.
