Softball Recap: Gonzales Apaches vs. Devine Warhorses

Gonzales extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 9-12 in the process. They lost 11-0 to the Devine Warhorses. The shutout was out of character for the Apaches seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

As for Devine, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Devine's part, the team relied heavily on Natalie Valle, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Valle has posted since back in March of 2024. Yaya Rodriguez was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

While Gonzales had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
