Preview: Midd-West Mustangs vs. Juniata Indians
The Midd-West Mustangs will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Juniata Indians at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Midd-West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Midd-West came up short against Lewisburg and fell 59-47. Midd-West has struggled against Lewisburg recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Garrett Leitzel, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Romig, who scored 19 points.
Juniata suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Halifax 69-31.
Midd-West now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Juniata, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Midd-West strolled past Juniata when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 48-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Midd-West since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
