Central is 2-8 against McHenry since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Rockets will challenge the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Tuesday, Central needed a bit of extra time to put away Hampshire. They skirted past the Whip-Purs 7-6.
The team relied heavily on Alexis Skarda, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 12 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Covey, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, McHenry entered their tilt with Prairie Ridge on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since May 6, 2025.
Natalie Bender spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Danica McCarthy was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Morgan Frederick was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Central's record is now 10-12-1. As for McHenry, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Central skirted past McHenry 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
